this is linnea. she's my dear friend. and in one week and one day she won't be linnea shelton anymore. after July 21st she'll be mrs. linnea taylor (prettypretty name). after all the rehearsal dinners, after the makeup and hair, the vows are said, the dancing done, the food eaten, and after the beautiful pictures are taken by Joel Wingo she'll be living way far away in North Dakota. not just 45 minutes from my home. she won't be in the second pew across from ours on sunday mornings. Ben will take his hot little wifey all the way back to that state out west. that's how it should be but i'm sad that she'll be so far away now. so much change whether i like it or not. but i'm thrilled for them. i really am. i love seeing people who find each other and totally get each other. it's exciting.
yesterday i shot the charming couple for their engagment photos. two took gorgeous rolls: where they got engaged, sitting on a brick wall and up against a perfect yellow wall. On the first roll the apeture and shutter speed were all screwed up and the second, i don't think the film caught and if it did i don't know when i should stop. does it just keep going? or do i stop taking photos? these are questions i forgot to ask jared or brae. totally manuel camera; totally new machine to me. two rolls; not one photo to show for it. oh the tragedy. we're gonna try again sunday night with my own little picture-taking machine and and hopefully this time it will work. wish me luck!

Kyrie, if you suspect that the film did not catch, it probably didn't. Trust me on this. I"ve done this very mistake plenty!! So go ahead and rewind if it will, pull it out, and put in another roll. OR just open it up and know you'll ruin a couple of shots if it has caught, but you'll know if it hasn't. Trust your instinct on that one. Don't keep snapping if you're not sure. Oh, and happy marriage to Linnea. : )

Oh, manual cameras. I just had a similar experience. I used to shoot rolls and rolls of film on this ancient Canon camera of mine in high school. I got it out again, resolved to become a better photographer. At the end of the roll I couldn't for the life of me remember how to get the film out. haha, it was a disaster. I ended up opening it before winding it and exposed everything to light.
That's the long way of me agreeing with you; there is a learning curve.

it's so emotionally draining..all this camera messing up..for me anyway..haha. all my shots, my careful crops and different angles..all gone! without warning. yikes. i just hope the ones i took yesterday of them get through the developing process okay. whew!
anyway, no i'm not blond. didn't venture there this summer. those shots of me and lin are from last summer.
